Security itself cannot be sacrificed in lieu of water of better hospital care, those should go hand in hand. Look into definition of “security”. Security – implies a stable, relatively predictable environment in which an individual or group may pursue its ends without disruption or harm and without fear of disturbance or injury (from textbook). What you are talking about is military spending and war, no one wants that, but everyone wants to have security.

While I agree with the message about security, I do not agree with the notion that “holding the govts accountable” will achieve anything. The system is not meant to be changed but to perpetuate. Govts don’t care what you think or want. They just want to stay in control and in power. The system is corrupt from the core and the only way change will come is by remove and completely replacing it from the ground up. I invite you to check out The Venus Project for more info.

Its very unfortunate that a baby’s feeding bottle is used as the symbol for child care, as a result I won’t be giving this to the Community Development lecturers at the University of Timor Loro Sa;e as it could too easily be read as an endorsement for the dangerous feeding bottles which are responsible for many deaths in poor countries. A pity, as the basic argument is a good one, Sadly people working on Peace, Human Rights and Development are going off in different directions.
