I am looking to start a laundry service/laundromat in my hometown. I have a superb business plan and location(location is everything!) for this business. The problem is MONEY! $250,000 to be exact. Of the 5 aspects banks/investors look for, I only have 3. 1. Experience - I have been a store manager in the retail sector for 4 years, and have handled P&L businesses quite well. 2. Credit Score - My credit is around 770 3. Business Plan- Amazing business plan for the laundry business (have read books, websites, join memberships over the last 3 months to gain better insight of laundry service). 4. Equity-NONE. Just had a baby with my ex-girlfriend which drained all my savings. 5. Collateral-NONE. Not too many 24 year olds have enough collateral at this point. My family members have all owned their [+]
I am just wondering if a credit card company like Citibank or Capital One will issue brand new corporations credit cards to use w/o the principal owner signing a personal guarantee on the money so if the business fails, you aren't liable to pay them out of your pocket because you have the limited liability shield ie S-Corp? I am 27 and I have a passion for baking. My sister is quite a cook as well. I have been thinking a lot (meaning for the past couple of years)about how much I would enjoy owning a bakery. There aren't that many bakeries in the town I live in (Norman,OK). Which is why I would really like to run one. A bakery that can have an edge as well as cater to the sweets lovers, and the vegans, and organic folks. I don't have professional experience and I have heard sometimes banks do look at that when considering a small business loan. Can anyone out there maybe help me with some tools and references so I can really take a serious look at this possibility? I would appreciate it. [+]

A Virtual Assistant (typically abbreviated to VA, also called a virtual office assistant)[1] is an entrepreneur who provides professional administrative, technical, or creative (social) assistance to clients from a home office.[2][3] They usually work for other small businesses, brokers and consultancy groups.[4] It is estimated that there are as few as 5,000-8,000 or as many as 35,000 Virtual Assistants worldwide; the profession is growing in centralized economies[5] with "fly-in, fly-out" (FIFO) staffing practices.[6][7][8] Common modes of communication and data delivery include the Internet, e-mail and phonecall conferences,[9] online work spaces, and fax machine. Professionals in this business work on a contractual basis and a long-lasting cooperation is standard. Typically 5 years of administrative experience in an office is expected at such positions as executive assistant, office manager/supervisor, secretary, legal assistant, paralegal, legal secretary, real estate assistant, et cetera.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_ass…http://www.mybusinessassistant.com/virtu…http://www.ablewebpro.com/site/http://www.davincivirtual.com/http://www.virtualassistant.org/ [+]
I am a restaurant worker, learned the business and someone wants to start a business with me. Right now I manage a small place, but don't have money to start anything on my own, so they would invest the money, but I don't know how to go on with it. Am I supposed to work on my own and the investor collect the profit without doing anything? How can we be fare on something like this? Did anyone have any experience like this before? [+]
